Beautiful arrivals from Perth florist
There’s something about airports that brings out intense emotions. Perhaps it’s the tearful goodbyes, the emotional reunions, the anger at lost luggage, the joy at finding a loved one – even strangers have been seen to shed a tear when they’re exposed to the feelings of other strangers. It’s a close, intense environment with raw emotions. And in amongst all the emotions - some of my most memorable ‘airport’ moments have been when I’ve seen fresh flowers being given – or being received. It added another layer of emotion – another dimension – that made the situation even more poignant.
Airport florist, Perth is ideally situated close to the airport and this close proximity makes them an ideal choice when it comes to regional flower deliveries. So if you’ve got a big moment coming up at the airport – a friend or family member returning from a trip after a long time, a greeting with a fresh flower arrangement will make the homecoming even more special. Perhaps you want to give a special welcome to a stranger to your city – and flowers will add that personal welcoming touch. Even if you’re saying goodbye to someone, a parting gift of flowers could be the enduring memory of your time together.
Whatever the occasion, airport flowers make those airport ’moments’ extra special. And for fresh flower ideas for that special moment, Perth florist, Airport Florist, has all the answers.

We drove past a wedding party over the weekend where a bunch of flowers was getting married to a handsome groom. That’s what it looked like anyway – the bride’s wedding flowers were SO enormous that they dwarfed the rest of her and it was hard to see anything except the garden that she held in her hands.
I’d never really thought about wedding bouquets in terms of their proportions – I’d always thought about just having your favourite flowers. When I got married, I wanted roses and clematis in a trailing bouquet – and now that I look back on it, it was plain luck that it worked really well with my dress and my body shape – it was nothing to do with any foresight or planning! There are so many options for bouquets – from the traditional trailing one, tightly packed balls of buds, loose hand-held bunches, baskets of flowers etc – but best to plan things, not rely on lady luck.
So when I saw the bride yesterday with her wedding flowers, I realised how important it is to make sure that everything is in proportion and that your beautiful wedding dress isn’t overshadowed by an oversized bouquet. Most florists should offer good advice on what to do and what works well etc – I know Urban Flowers of Perth, wedding flower specialists, have really good ideas on wedding bouquets and it’s always a good idea for brides to take photos, or sketches of their dress to the florist so that they can make informed suggestions.
After all, the emphasis should be on the ‘BIG’ day, not big flowers !

Teaching aids put the fun back into school
A gold star was as good as it got when I was at school… admittedly that was back in the dark ages, but you should see what the kids get these days when they do a good job! Fluorescent stickers, stickers that smell (smell nice, that is !), laser ones, metallic ones, certificates, bookmarks etc… there are literally hundreds of different things that teachers give out now to reward and incentivise kids. They all have different messages on them, so you know how kids are about collecting things… they never have to get the same one twice !
I was introduced to an amazing array of teacher resources when I went to interview the MD of one of our clients, Australian Teaching Aids, at their warehouse where they distribute their products to retailers and schools around Aussie who order online via ATA’s new website. I was blown away by the range of stuff they send out, beautiful laminated charts, zany pencils, books, merit certificates..you name it, but I was a sucker for the stickers ! Takes me back to childhood. And amazingly, the majority of their stuff is all made in Australia so they are proudly supporting local industry which is great. Gold stars are so yesterday… these teaching aids are enough to make any kid feel like a star in the classroom !

Kids have it so good these days ! And no, I’m not complaining about it, I am just green with ENVY ! The gadgets, the clothes… and as for the shoes ! I’ve been doing a bit of work for an amazing US children’s shoe manufacturer who has just launched a website for their Aussie and Kiwi customers, and I cannot believe the huge of stunning children’s shoes out there. I’m actually feeling a bit sorry for my kids, because all they had when they were tiny were knitted booties from Nanna ! No offence gran, but I am feeling a bit sad that none of this funky, fun stuff that See Kai Run produces was around then… in the olden-days as my boys would say ! And, unlike the killer heels and platforms of today that look fantastic but don’t feel so good ..these cool baby shoes are actually really good for developing feet. Bring on the grandchildren ! Actually, let’s take that back, I’m not ready for that just yet, in the meantime, I’ll just have to dream about gorgeous baby shoes !
